PSALM 119:11
11 Your word have I laid up in my heart, that I might
not sin against You. (AMP)
PROVERBS 28:13
13 He who covers his transgressions will not prosper,
but whoever confesses and forsakes his sins will obtain mercy. (AMP)
Romans 6:14
14 For sin shall not [any longer] exert dominion over you,
since now you are not under Law [as slaves], but under grace [as subjects of God's favor and mercy]. (AMP)
1 CORINTHIANS 10:12-13
12 Therefore let anyone who thinks he stands
[who feels sure that he has a steadfast mind and is standing firm], take heed lest he fall [into sin].
13 For no temptation
(no trial regarded as enticing to sin, no matter how it comes or where it leads) has overtaken you and laid hold on you that
is not common to man [that is, no temptation or trial has come to you that is beyond human resistance and that is not adjusted
and adapted and belonging to human experience, and such as man can bear]. But God is faithful [to His Word and to His compassionate
nature], and He [can be trusted] not to let you be tempted and tried and assayed beyond your ability and strength of resistance
and power to endure, but with the temptation He will [always] also provide the way out (the means of escape to a landing place),
that you may be capable and strong and powerful to bear up under it patiently. (AMP)
EPHESIANS 6:10-11,16
10 Finally, build up your strength in union with
the Lord and by means of his mighty power.
11 Put on all the armor that God gives you, so that you will be able to stand
up against the Devil's evil tricks.
16 At all times carry faith as a shield; for with it you will be able to put out all
the burning arrows shot by the Evil One. (TEV)
HEBREWS 2:18
18 And now he can help those who are tempted, because he
himself was tempted and suffered. (TEV)
HEBREWS 4:14-16
14 Let us, then, hold firmly to the faith we profess.
For we have a great High Priest who has gone into the very presence of God - Jesus, the Son of God.
15 Our High Priest
is not one who cannot feel sympathy for our weaknesses. On the contrary, we have a High Priest who was tempted in every way
that we are, but did not sin.
16 Let us have confidence, then, and approach God's throne, where there is grace. There we
will receive mercy and find grace to help us just when we need it. (TEV)
JAMES 1:2-3,12
2 My friends, consider yourselves fortunate when all
kinds of trials come your way,
3 for you know that when your faith succeeds in facing such trials, the result is the ability
to endure.
12 Happy are those who remain faithful under trials, because when they succeed in passing such a test, they
will receive as their reward the life which God has promised to those who love him. (TEV)
JAMES 1:13-14
13 If we are tempted by such trials, we must not
say, "This temptation comes from God." For God cannot be tempted by evil, and he himself tempts no one.
14 But we are tempted when we are
drawn away and trapped by our own evil desires. (TEV)
JAMES 4:7
7 So
then, submit yourselves to God. Resist the Devil, and he will run away from you.
(TEV)
1 PETER 1:6-7
6 Be glad about this, even though it may now be necessary
for you to be sad for a while because of the many kinds of trials you suffer.
7 Their purpose is to prove that your
faith is genuine. Even gold, which can be destroyed, is tested by fire; and so your faith, which is much more precious than
gold, must also be tested, so that it may endure. Then you will receive praise and glory and honor on the Day when Jesus Christ
is revealed. (TEV)
1 PETER 5:8-9
8 Be alert, be on watch! Your enemy, the Devil, roams
around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour.
9 be firm in your faith and resist him, because you know that
other believers in all the world are going through the same kind of sufferings. (TEV)
2 PETER 2:9
2 And so the Lord knows how to rescue godly people from
their trials and how to keep the wicked under punishment for the Day of Judgment, (TEV)
1 JOHN 1:9
9 But if we confess our sins to God, he will keep his promise
and do what is right: he will forgive us our sins and purify us from all our wrongdoing. (TEV)
1 JOHN 4:4
4 But you belong to God, my children, and have defeated the
false prophets, because the Spirit who is in you is more powerful than the spirit in those who belong to the world. (TEV)
JUDE 24-25
24 To him who is able to keep you from falling and to bring
you faultless and joyful before his glorious presence -
25 to the only God our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord,
be glory, majesty, might, and authority, from all ages past, and now, and forever and ever! Amen. (TEV)
